Team Leader Product Designer

As the Team Leader, Product Designer for the Platform group, you will oversee the design strategy and execution for key areas of the Rocket Money app, including Onboarding, Dashboard, Premium Membership, and more. This role combines strategic leadership, team management, and hands-on design to ensure seamless, data-driven user experiences. You will collaborate across functions to align design initiatives with business objectives and user needs, playing a pivotal role in shaping the app’s aesthetic and functional direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the Platform product vision and strategy in collaboration with the Group Product Manager (GPM).
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of designers, fostering growth and excellence.
- Oversee the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs and alignment with strategic goals.
- Champion user-centered design principles by creating intuitive and accessible experiences informed by user research and testing.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment.
- Utilize data analytics and user feedback to iterate on designs and improve user outcomes.
- Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership, clearly articulating rationale and decisions.
- Work with Rocket Money Design Systems to maintain and evolve the design system for consistency and scalability.
- Drive innovation by proposing new ways for users to engage with Rocket Money’s services.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
About You
- At least 8 years of experience in user experience design, with 2+ years in design management roles.
- Proficient in Figma; experience with similar tools like Sketch is a plus.
- Strong understanding of how design translates into code, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Proven track record of impactful design solutions and successful leadership of initiatives.

- Strategic thinker and problem-solver with a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
