Software Engineer, Backend

Vanta is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help scale its infrastructure, ensuring seamless developer workflows and high-performance backend systems. You’ll work on critical infrastructure projects, improving build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and scalability to support rapid growth.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and build CI/CD systems to enhance developer efficiency and product robustness.
• Modernize testing tools and improve developer experience.
• Solve scalability challenges related to infrastructure, workflows, and key backend services.
• Lead design reviews, ensuring technical trade-offs align with business goals.
• Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture, collaborating with a talented and supportive team.

What Makes You a Strong Fit:

• 3+ years of experience in backend engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Strong background in scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced environments with a bias for action.
• Familiarity with greenfield projects and building systems from the ground up.
• Interest in security and compliance technologies (prior experience is a plus).
