About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced Database Administrator to collaborate with a leading energy sector client. You’ll play a key role in optimizing databases, supporting ERP migrations, and ensuring high performance and data integrity across cloud and on-premises environments. This 6-month full-time project (40 hours/week) offers the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

Administer and optimize relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB) databases.
Support ERP database migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
Conduct database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
Set up database replication strategies for real-time updates and scaling.
Automate routine database tasks with DevOps teams.
Ensure database security, availability, and integrity across systems.
Optimize VM and disk configurations in cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in database engineering, administration, and cloud operations.
Expertise with cloud database solutions (Azure, AWS) and big data platforms (Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake).
Strong skills in SQL, Python/Bash, database tuning, and high-availability clusters.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
Knowledge of data modeling, security, and governance principles.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
